Are You Ready for some Futbol?

Today the World Cup begins with Germany vs. Costa Rica. The U.S. doesn't play until Monday, the 12th. While the U.S. has a great team, they are in a very hard group where anyone could win it. My prediction, the U.S. ties both Italy and the Czech Republic and beats Ghana to go 1-0-2. I think whether the U.S. advances will come down to whether Italy or the Czechs win their matchup the same time as the U.S. vs. Ghana. Italy and the U.S. advance but the U.S.'s reward will be a second round matchup with Brazil. It is an event that happens once every 4 years and with this edition being in Europe, it should provide for a festive atmosphere. Even if you aren't a soccer fan, you should take in a few games just to see how the rest of the world celebrates these matches as it is unlike any other sporting event, even the Olympics.
