New Philly CFUG Site

Posted On April 16, 2007 4:53 PM By Phil in CFUG

Steve Rittler, manager of the Philadelphia ColdFusion User Group has updated our site so that it uses BlogCFC. Steve's still working through some of the kinks with the upgraded, but it looks good so far.

For user groups, BlogCFC has come so far in the last number of iterations that it is becoming a borderline CMS in addition to blogging software. As some know, I had started a project called CFUGMGR. The more I worked on it, the closer to BlogCFC is seemed to get. I haven't worked on it in quite some time and while I'd love to go back and get at least something up and running with it, I'm not convinced I could do as well of a job as Ray's done with BlogCFC. The only items I could see being an absolute must for it being used in a user group setting in addition to everything BlogCFC currently has is some type of meeting registration mechanism and possibly multiple enclosures per entry (I'd like for it to have this last piece anyways). Maybe in addition to entries and pages, an event type is created and the event can become the meetings? Anyways, the Philly CFUG site looks good and hopefully next months meetings are well attended.
