OT: Surprises, Surprises

Posted On June 5, 2007 6:39 AM By Phil in House,Personal

Ok, I knew when Laurisa and I bought our house that there would be a few surprises after we moved in, I just didn't know they'd all focus on the pool. First, when we opened it a few weeks ago, the previous owners had placed most of their lawn furniture in, about 10 chairs so we had to fish all of them out. Then, after getting the pool finally clean, I went to clean the filter and was surprised by the inclusion of some vermin. That's nothing new, my parents have pulled mice out of their pool on a number of occasions. Then this morning, I'm awakened to be told that there is a huge frog on the bricks outlaying the in-ground pool. I go out to look and it's huge! So while I'm standing across the pool from it trying to figure out how I'll get it out the back yard so the dogs don't find it, it jumps in the pool and starts swimming around. It's still there as of this moment. Oh well, the joys of home ownership ...

Phil Duba's Gravatar There's at least one shot. I'll grab Laurisa's camera and snap a few more off before work and post, :)

Laurisa's Gravatar I'm enjoying showing these pics to my kids here. They really enjoy the comments below- it's like telling a story to them. They keep asking, what happens next?! Ah, the joys of 5th graders!

Phil Duba's Gravatar I just added two more to the slideshow. He was eating bugs on the surface but dove down before I got close.

Russ Johnson's Gravatar LOL! Thats great! Makes me appreciate even more having my entire patio and in-ground pool screened in!!

Good Luck with Kermit!! I hope the chlorine and chemicals in the pool dont give him alligator skin!

Phil Duba's Gravatar Thanks Dan! In South Jersey, we have frogs, North Jersey, you got bears from your blog posts. I think I'd rather have frogs in my pool than bears on my street, :).
