ColdFusion 8 WACK is Coming!
Posted On August 19, 2007 7:02 AM By Phil in Books,ColdFusion
So I open my inbox this morning and I have an email from Amazon that says the ColdFusion 8 Web Application Construction Kit Volume 1: Getting Started is to be released on August 31st. Further investigation shows that Volume 2: Application Development is to be released on October 4th and Volume 3: Advanced Application Development on October 29th.
I must say, I am glad that this series A) continues and B)has been broken up into 3 books. There are so many new features in CF8 that a third book is definitely needed. I am a bit surprised, though, that there isn't a book dedicated to server administration. I am assuming it is part of Volumes 2 or 3, but maybe an administration guide would be good, like a Pocket Guide. I know of a few system administrators in the past that have had difficulty at times administering CF and have relied on the developers to help them manage the CF server, something I believe a developer should not have to do. Just some food for thought. Anyways, great job Ben, Ray and the host of others that took time out of their busy schedules to build, what I am sure, are 3 great books and references for the ColdFusion community.
